I’m very excited to announce that my first book has just been published with Oxford University Press!
A Kingdom United draws from a vast array of diaries, journals and newspapers to provide a compelling picture of some of the thoughts, views and conversations of British and Irish people on the outbreak of war. The book challenges preconceptions and assumptions about how ordinary people and elite figures reacted to events and pays special attention to the question of Ireland, demonstrating how the majority of Irish people supported the war and were united in the British cause.
The book was officially launched by Professor John Horne of Trinity College, Dublin at the London Irish Centre, Camden Square, on 23rd March 2012.
Further details of the book, including sample extracts, are available at the Oxford University Press website.
